No turnover
Hey guys, my problem is that my car will crank but it wont turnover. I have replaced the starter, cap and rotor, spark plug wires and adjusted timing. i dunno what else could be wrong. Could it be something electrical? I have an msd on it too.
HELP?

Re: No turnover (Eg4-TuRbO)
For your car to turnover you need spark, fuel and compression.
1) Check for spark. Take out a spark plug, put it on the wire and touch to ground while someone cranks the car. Simply look for spark on the electrode. No spark? Refer to a manual for step by step troubleshooting, but no spark USUALLY means something in the distrbutor (coil, igniter, or sensors). But the Timing belt could have snapped as well, therefore not turning the camshafts to turn the distributor.
2) Fuel - turn the key to the on position. Do you hear the fuel pump whizzing? Usually you can tell if your getting fuel by the plugs being covered wet with fuel. The real way thought is to loosen up the fuel filter bolt and see if pressure is there and fuel squirts out. No fuel? Main relay bad possibly, fuel pump pooping out, injectors all dirty (kinda uncommon to have all of them clogged up, unless your gas was contaminated or something) , clogged fuel filter.
3) You probably have compression unless your motor is tired or you beat on it a lot. For a car not to start you will need really really low compression in all cylinders.
4) If timing is off, car should still start.
Go from there and see if your car is throwing any CEL codes.

forgot to mention that my car does start after awhile. I leave my car in the sun for about 8 hours, for work, and it doesnt start. It starts in the morning for the drive to school but that's about it. Then when i get off of work, it wont start. I leave it alone for a few hours and try it again and it works. Explain that, if you can.

Re: No turnover (turbozxi)
yeah thats what i would guess. When it doesnt start, do the spark plug test. If your getting spark, and its not starting, your not getting fuel, so the main relay (electrical box under steering column) is probably bad. They are supposed to click after you turn the key. Listen for click. They are like $50 from Honda i believe.
