why does my motion sensor randomly gets triggered?
As the topic states, i just added a motion sensor to my security system and once in a while it'll randomly "go off." Its pissing me off as well as my neighbors. Also, i am sure that no one is messing with it becuase i can see my car 24/7 by just looking outside the window.

the motion sesnor should be setup in the middle of the vehicle (center console?) so it will get window to window coverage. If you install it on the drivers side, you'll ge "guarding" 2' of the road and not the passenger seat. If you can, try turning the sensitivity down.
Motion sensors randomly go off because you probably have it set to high or you have a cheap motion sensor. If you have a dual zone you may have the zones to close together. Try turning down you motion sensor. Also if you live in an are that has high RF interference you will have problems. Try going to a different motion sensor that uses a different frequency. My microwave used to set of my motion sensor when my car was parked in the garage.
There are also ways to change the shape of the field with aluminum foil but I would suggest turning down the sensor first.
