get a 12" adire audio shiva...a jl bp600.1 amp...that's around 500 bucks right there. You can get a headunit for around 300 bucks. $800 Add in some JL audio, memphis, diamond audio, rainbow, infinity whatever speakers for another $500 front and rear that's $1300 bucks....then you can get some alpine amp to power those....for another 300 bucks. so $1600.

JL 6W0 in .25 cu. FT sealed box, mounted directly behind the drivers seat. JL XR components for the front, no rear speakers.
Good 4/5 channel amp and head unit. I picked Soundstream and Kenwood. Good luck.

If you are just looking for quality and not slammin bass. I would suggest getting an affter market componet set for the front 3-ways for the back and a bazooka tube for bass. You can get the bazooka tube with a built in amp so it is more compact and easier to install.
do bazooka tubes make good base? Its either going with one of those...or blowing away a lot of money on an amp, a custom box with a tube through the middle so that my rear strut bar fits, and money on the alpine sub itself (10" R).

My fiancee has a 10" bazooka toube in her 4 door saturn, and it provides a nice little bump in the trunk. Not overly loud, but you can hear the difference when it is not in there. Plus it is really easy to take out (she autocrosses in it). Not bad, but I am putting a better sub in my own car, need a bit more volume than the bazooka can provide.
