Default What type of wire to use?

I am going to get hardwire a inverter and im trying to wire the remote switch for my amps. I have tried a numerious kinds of wires for the amp remote but they keep melting and smoking. I was wondering if anyone knew what type to use and the guages, same for the the inverter. What time of wire should i use?

your remote wire is a low current (like 300ma) wire...if its frying - you got serious other issues to worry about.

Check your wiring. Remote wire can be like 24 gauge (the smallest stuff used to alarms)

You're not powering the inverter off the remote wire right?

If you want your inverter on when the head unit is powered on, simply use the remote lead to close a relay that switches high-current to your inverter. Otherwise, find a circuit in your fuse panel that the key switches on/off. This will power your inverter on/off at the key instead of the head unit.
