when i turn my car on, the music plays clear through all the speakers (front, rear) like normal except my sub. my sub, 12w7, is making distorted/attenuated sounds with a high frequency at all times when it is on.....it even does this when the volume is turned all the way down. nothing is wrong with my speaker i'm guessing it is something with the amp. could it be the speaker wires?

please help i want my bass back hehe

 

Please give more info on your setup, including crossover frequencies. Type of box, tuning frequency. Do you have a subsonic filter?

 

move your amp? get new wires?
