Reprogramming my remote?
hey guys,
heres the deal: i have a viper alarm/remote start system and i took the battery out of the remote for about 7 months over the winter bc i only ever used the remote start feature. I was afriad i would leave it in gear and it would smash into another car (again) if i bumped the buttons.
Now i put a new battery in it and it doesn't have the antenna blinking in the upper left corner anymore. It's not getting signal. I checked the wires, fuses, everything is fine there. Did it loose programming from having the battery out too long? If so, how can i get it reprogrammed? Last year when i got the car it wasnt programmed but it still worked on the door locks. I took it to tweeter and they did the remote start for me. Now, nothing. Any ideas on why it isnt working? Should i have the remote programmed again, or is it something else that would cause it to loose signal?

To program, open a door, turn on the ignition, then press the valet button, then press the lock button on the remote....
Been a while, but I think those are the steps. I'm checking DEI's site right now to verify.
Edit... Yeah... That should be right...

open the driver's door, press the valet button twice and hold on the 2nd time....the siren will chirp and then you press the lock button on the remote...it will chirp again to let you know it is programmed
