I can't program my remote! =( (clifford 50.5x)
I woke up this morning and the battery died on my remote. I replaced the battery but the remote is NOT talking to my alarm and it is still ARMED. How do i go about fixing this problem?
I've tried using the valet button but the alarm is just blaring in my ear and my neighbors are getting mad.
Please help!

Disconnect the battery in the meantime and disable the siren and then connect the battery so that you can figure out whats going on.
Turning the ignition on and off then push the valet button once should put it in valet mode. Or you can do with the remote by pressing lock, unlock, lock your LED should light solid indicating you are in valet mode( forgot your remote don't work ).
Try finding the antenna to see if it is a loose connection or damage antenna check connection at the brain also.
If you can get it into valet try reprogramming the remote by turning the ignition on leave a door open though push the valet button once and hold on the second you will see the LED flash keep holding the button while you press a button on the remote transmitter. See if that helps.
DAMN IT MAN your avatar keeps on winking at me.

MM&Y of car it's in?
Is the remote start connected?
If not, was the yellow lead in the ribbon harness connected to ign.?
If not, that is your problem, alarm override and remote control programing will not work without ign. input. 94
PS stuff a sock into the siren to muffle it until you can get things working.

Disconnecting the battery is not going to help in this case. Nor is putting a sock in the siren. The back up battery is going to keep both sirens going. And you will not be able to get to both sirens.
Also your valet button is not programmed to the default setting of One press. Look in your owners manual and you will see were its set to. If you can program a alarm valet button take over. It should be done because all theives know the default press of one time.
If you still have any more problems give me a im or text and I will try to get back at you as soon as possiable.

I would advise you to get a 2nd cheap-o 1-way remote once you get this solved - or maybe right away! At least you'll be able to disarm it in the future if this happens. 1-way batteries last a loooong time when not in use.
BTW did you follow the instructions listed in this PDF, page 34?? I had this happen (dead battery upon install), but I can't recall exactly how I fixed it - I want to say I used the bitwriter. For yours, you may need to use #14 to delete all remotes (page 35), then relearn that remote.
