question about equalizer
I am thinking of adding an alpine EQ to my system...only thing is that it says it has 1 input and 3 outputs.....if my deck has three sets of rca outs....front and rear plus sub.....will I be loosing any controls if I hook up the EQ. Mainly I was thinking that if I ran the eq then the fading settings for the sub won't do much because it wont be hooked up to the line out from the deck that controls the sub....
sorry if that makes no sense...

yeah the eq can control the gain on the sub and all that
anyone have any opinions of the alpine G180...seems pretty good and they arent that expensive

Only one set of inputs? so are you going to be equilizing your sub, or your speakers? YOu loose the sub control if you go that way, why would you equilize your sub? Usually a cross-over does the trick, In this case unless the equilizer is a "sub equalizer" then there will probably be one, maybe two bands in the subs range. 30 Hz and maybe 60 Hz. I think unless you want to boost just those two frequencies then this would be nearly usless to you
there are many eq pieces that have an input set, front set, rear set and sub set. u control the the fader from the eq and u can control the sub from the eq or some higher end models come with a separate sub ****. if u have any more questions about them ill be more than happy to help u, and if u like, i have many eq's at my store and were having specials right now on the entire store. i can see wut i can do for u

Here are the questions that you have to ask when it comes to eq's how big is your car, what kind of acoustics are there, and what angles are you speakers at.
The reason to by an eq is to boost the frequencies that are absorbed in the cars acoustics more than others. if you have a honda, chances are you don't really need one, if you have a larger car that has more carpeting and such go for it.
This doen't mean that you shoulden't get one, I have a 22 band 2 channel stereo equilazer, (not graphic which is to bad) JBL 422 I think anyway, doesn't do much, maybe once I get midbasses then maybe it will help. It looks sweet on the back of my seat though

I just figure it will give me better control than the headunit...I feel that I am getting too much high and not enough mids out of my speakers from using the settings on the headunit. Last eq I had in a car made a huge difference
eqs are nice to have. i have one for sale if you interested. but i had it in my crx for a bit and i could tune it to have such good sq, then just turn up the sub level and thump hard
