OK I just cant decide on what deck I want!
this is getting ridiculous, i've had a huge hole in my dash for weeks now.

can you audio gurus plzz just list off all the good brand names that make cd decks,
so I can go through and just look through their product line and find something I like.

so far I've looked at

alpine,
jvc,
pioneer,
sony,
panasonic,
kenwood,
clarion,
nakamichi.

and i hate it all

OK I actually dont HATE it all, but the nakamichi is too expensive,
and the rest all have something "wrong" about them that puts me off.

so anyways, I know i'm a picky wierdo, but if I missing any brands, just let me know.

 

What features are you looking for? How much $$$$?

 

I like Alpine, always have and proly always will. Prices aren't that bad either.

Exactly........once you give us a bit more info., there are a lot of knowledgeable people who will be able to give you some advice.

 

you're safe with just about anything from alpine or eclipse

 

looking for something not too expensive,
and I want cdr playability, i'd LIKE mp3 playability.. but I dont know if thats going to happen.

what I would REALLY LIKE,
is something thats not all crazy flashy looking, but more simple/stylish, that also
doesnt look cheap/cheezy, and has good sound quality.

basically... I dont need to see swimming dolphins

i have an alpine cda 9811 and i love it to hell. i used to have a sony deck, but that got stolen, and i'm glad i didnt replace it again with a sony.

the alpines are awsome, check them out

what do you guys think?
my friend tells me nakamichi is prettymuch top of the line

 

thats an old model. u would have to buy them used if u want that particular one. i have heard that nakamichis have a lot of problems. also the only model available is the cd-400 now. no cd-500, never made it to production. i have been looking for one myself but the fact that they break easily turned me away. good luck. im gonna end up getting an eclipse

its some wholesale site(i still dont know wtf wholesale means )

i'm hesitating to mention the site.. just cuz they might be in low quantity.. and I dont want to get bought out from under my nose, haha.

yeah, I read that too somewhere.

but my friends tell me they ARE top of the line as far as sound quality, and the "classic stereo" look is great for me.

also I have a friend who actually has one of these decks, and he says hes had no problems with it.

 

argh... nevermind.. I just called them up and they didnt have it

stupid non-updated websites !! GRRRR!!

 

if u want TOP quality, SQ and classic look, get a DENON DCT-Z1. theyre the best looking to me.

 

Eclipse or Pioneer. If you want a nice deck for cheap check out pioneer on ebay!
