Memphis Audio
Anyone have any experience with Memphis audio
i have a Fit and i am looking to get crazy, i primarily listen to metal
the doors i was going with these

they are 8' door speakers , you can leave the tweets on the speaker or mount them elsewhere , so for the front of the fit i would take the tweet and remount it, for the back i would not
also want to get couple of memphis 10' woofers, 150 per channel, memphis amps
anyway anyone have any experience with tunning these speakers, i am going to get a memphis sound processor to mess withthe levels
just wonder how these compare with say . high end polks or high end MB quarts

Memphis makes an OK product, the speaker, [15-MSYNC8] is pretty good, comparable with Polk and maybe MB Quarts entry level line, it has good bass response, if installed properly, and a pretty good setup with 4 of them, if you were not running subs, with subs you could just as easily use the 15-MSYNC6, and save yourself a lot of custom work.
Either way, leave the tweeter where it is, [point source] for the front speakers, remove the tweeters on the rear speakers, wire the rear speakers in series, use a 4x75W RMS into 4 ohms amp, run it in 3ch mode, [left/right front and mono for the 2 rears, it will improve sound stage and make proper imaging a lot easier.
Use a separate mono block sub amp for the subs.

the fit has its tweeter seprate on the front door, there is no seprate tweet in the back, and your right i looked at the 6.5 version and they are cheaper, and i wont have to cut up the door
i was going to go with a memphis 4x70 amp
2 memphis 10 inch subs, and a memphis amp that does 400 bridged
keeping oem deck and just wiring up a equalizer
this set up for product comes in under $800
my only worry is there is seriously nowhere to put amps in a fit , so the sub amp might be screwed into the sub box, the problem there is the floor in the trunk is super thin because it lifts up to reveal the spare
thinking about getting the rear strut bar and fastening the sub box to that
expl of bar

Why would you not replace the HU??
If it's a budget thing, get a new HU skip the speakers and amp, for now, get the sub(s) and amp, you will get much better SQ, and you can always upgrade a little at a time later, starting with front speakers then the 4ch amp, I wouldn't even bother with new rear speakers, use the stock ones, they are only there for rear fill anyway.
You would be surprised at how good a Honda speaker sounds with a little power driving them, the weak link in a stock system is the HU.
