Default Which 6.5 speakers actually fit in without much or any modifications

Although its too late for me to get new speakers since i just bought mine, for future reference, which 6.5 speakers are actually decent sounding and fit without much custom bracketing? It seems the better (bigger magnet) speakers are better. I guess you would just have to compromise. List your speakers & tell if it fits well/ quality of sound. thanx!

I have Polk Audio DB6500 component speakers up front. The 6.5" woofers installed exactly how the stock speakers did.......
they sound GREAT!

That sucks, I had the same problem as you did. I bought 6.5" Rockford speakers a long time ago for the door panels in my Integra. They were too deep.

My solution? Swap em for 5inch Infinity Kappas. They sounded just as good, if not better.

im using the infinity kappa perfect 6.1 component set.... and at first it seemed like they were too big (they hit the window@ first) so what i did to fix this was modify that thick black spacer/grill looking thing that mounts to the panel behind the speakers... that black grill behind the stock speakers had the perfect thickness around the rim, and brought out the speaker just far enough so it wouldnt hit the window..but it has to be modifyed to work with the thick magnet...it has to be hollowed out so it's one big ring and nothing else... i literally used wire crimpers and just broke it all out on the spot... actually i would reccomend using it since it was so easy.. crimp into it and break some sorta line into it.. then work your way around the edge.. sometimes that plastic will be stubborn... so dont be suprised if you have to make several left to right motions and wiggle out some pieces.. i hope you understand what im saying.. if not i'll re-interate

I have some middle-of-the-line Pioneers in mine. They sound way better than stock. The only customization I had to do was cut the back out of the stock plastic speaker panel. After doing that, any small-magnet speaker will fit without problems. It's when you start getting the good speakers with the huge magnets that you need to do some custom fabrication. Really easy though. Just make some rings out of some MDF to give you some extra space. After that, almost any 6.5" speaker will fit.
