Well one is an alarm and the other is a remote start, for the price they should be fine.
My first question would be, do you want an alarm or a remote start, or both, if the answer is both, then I would look for a combo unit like http://www.etronics.com/produc...d=297 this. 94

Yes the alarm has all the basic things you need plus a few extras
I would however find out what kind of warranty they give and under what condistions, how long is the warranty on the brain and/or the remotes. eg. if the unit is DOA, [does not work when it is installed] will you get another unit, who pays for shipping, how long will it take? 94

ya i will probably end up getting it from a shop because of that fact. Its probably easier than having to go through the trouble of all the shipping BS if something goes wrong.

A very good idea, getting the alarm and having it installed at the same place has a lot of advantages, warranty being at the top of the list, and it supports your local retailer and your local economy, the other big advantage is, if you have a problem you can go and talk to someone face to face, not some poor slob on the phone who probably doesn't give a rats *** about your problem, and may in fact have no clue as to what a car alarm is or does. 94

PS let us know how it turns out
