Integra setup
I want to do something interesting on my teg. You know those factory setups without the subs that sound half decent. ie. Mach System (Ford Mustangs), and Monsoon System in VW Jettas. Well, I want to have something similar in my Integ. I am not looking for outrageous bass. I just want more volume/midbass than stock (no sub thumping, rumbling **** - at least not for now
). So.. here is what I know so far, recommendations would be appreciated.
I would like to go with:
1. MB Quart 6.5 components (listened to the Q series and loved them, we'll see about the cost, it seemed to range a lot. One place wanted 1500 for them, another said like 500). Which speakers should I put in back? I dont think 6'9's will fit.
2. Next I would think the only way to mimick such a system, would be to get an amp to power the components/speakers. Which amps should I choose from. I am thinkin about weight savings. Nothing outrageously heavy (like Zapko - even though they are sweet). Pheonix Gold? Recommendations appreciated.
3. I am looking to run the Kenwood eXcelon KVT-911DVD In-Dash CD/DVD w/navigation unit

well first off, those stock systems suck a$$. i dont know y u would want them. u think theyre half decent because the stock integra system is by far one of the worst system i have ever heard. so when u go from shittiest to shitty, it sounds pretty good. but when u go from good to shitty(mach 460, monsoon), the difference is day and night.
mb quart is overrated and overpriced, especially the q series. go with something different. im running diamond audio hex components which i think r better than q series and its a fraction of the cost.
next, u need a powerful amp to power these suckers. at least an underrated 80 watts to each channel.
and for bass u can run just 1 10 inch sub.
but realistically, u have to look at how much money u have to spend on all this and then work from there. so decide how much u wanna spend and then let me know and ill help u out

Thanks for the response, but I didn't want to run a sub, due to the added weight. I had an extensive stereo setup in my past car...... it was nice, dont get me wrong, but I dont need all of that **** again. Not saying its gonna be cheaper, because I really want that monitor/nav... but... I dont need all of that bass for now. As of now, I just want something that will sound like the monsoon/mach with a monitor/nav.

since you are concerned about weight a bit and say you dont need bass right now
I'd suggest you go with Illusion Audio 8" components
drop the 8" midbass/sub into your door area as well as the tweeter and call it a day, forget rear fill, with 8's in a door sound deadened and properly amped you'll be happy

How will I fit 8's in the doors?! I thought even 6.5's were a squeeze!

ADDITIONALLY: Who makes some nice 8 inch components? MB Quart? MTosh? Which brand is good for what kind of sound?
Thanks!
