I don't want to go too crazy w/ my sound system set-up. Just something to start me out with. Heres what I have so far:

Alpine 7894
2 10" JLw3
JL 500/1
6.5" Pioneers all the way around

Some questions though. Do I need to get the D4 version? Do I wire the voice coils in series and the subs parallel? In the future, I will buy a JL 300/4 amp and put some Focal components up front and some okay 6.5" in the back just for rear fill. I think I am also going to purchase some RAAMmat. How much do I need?

 

it actually doesnt matter what ohm configuration your subs are becauese of the whole new jl technology, but yeah thats a pretty nice begginer setup. and far as the dynomat goes that all just depends on where u want it done at.

Treat each coil as a separate sub rated at the ohm impedance listed in your sub's paperwork.

 

Yeah, I think the JLs put out the same amount of wattage b/t 1.5-4 ohms. With this set-up should I upgrade the alternator wiring or get a heavy duty battery? I don't want my headlights fading when bass hits.
