And what are you connecting the two leads you, joined together, to?
The yellow/red in the stock radio harness, [ACC.]?
Or the white w/yellow or blue tracer, [12V+ constant]?
The constant power lead on most Honda/Acuras are protected by a 7.5A, [hot at all times] fuse in the under hood fuse box, Depending on the aftermarket HU you have you may or may not be able to use that circuit, [new HU needs more then 7.5A of current] if that is the case, run a fused 12- 10 gauge power line from the batt. to behind the HU connect the HUs 12V+ constant, [yellow] to it, don't forget to cap off the stock 12V+ constant, and replace the fuse, if blown. DO NOT replace with bigger fuse, it is also often used as memory for your ECM/ECU.

I you mean the OEM HU, [head unit] it is held in by two 8mm/Philips machine screws that go through the rear support bracket into the extended lip of the HUs bottom panel, much like on a 93-95... http://www.installdr.com/Insta...7.pdf access to the 8mm machine screws, [bolts] will be a little different on your 88.
