Default HELP!!..stereo NOOB in audio hell

I have a 93 Civic for my Daily, I figured since I drive it everyday I might as well have a nice system. I pieced together a system for a couple hundred bucks. All componemts have been tested and are working 100%.

The specs:

Pioneer DEH-4600 deck
Fosgate 200.4 4-channel amp driving Kenwood componetnts up front and infinity refernece in th erear.
Aura(?) amp powering an MTX 12" sub.
I've run the power cble directly from the battery to a distribution block to power both amps mounted to an MDF board.
Tried a few diferent grounds for both amps and deck with no change.

Problem:

Lots of noise when motor is running, lots of hiss through the speakers(when car is off) and very muted sound. Sounds like crap. It also POPS very loudly when buttons on the deck are pressed.

I have installed systems before. I had a good friend help me, all connections are soldered, RCA's are seperate from power cable. Ground are good(I think)

The wiring in the car may be suspect, but we've bypassed most of it.

HELP!!!! We spent the entire day yesterday tring stuff with no luck, what could it be???

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Darren

Where's the deck grounded? Where are the amps grounded?

Have you tried unplugging the RCA's one at a time to try and isolate where the noise is coming from? Have you tried swapping out the RCA's?

Was all of this equipment new? I'm assuming not since you say that you got it all for a "couple hundred bucks"...

Not new, but all tested and confirmed it worked, and worked well. The deck and amps are now grounded to the same area. I had them seperate on the body to an area with the paint removed. No luck.
Where would teh best ground be?
