Default Stereo install help- question

Let's see if I can describe this best-
Front speaker wires coming out of the deck- rather than wire them into the harness for the factory wiring can I just hook the wire off the deck direct to speaker wire that is ran to the respective speaker? All I'm bypassing to my knowledge is the factory wires and plug- this shoud cause no problems, correct?

why= Need to run new wires to the crossover and new wires off of that. Might as well do it right the first time- unless I'm missing something. I am new to stereo stuff.

You don't have to run new wires. Use the OEM wires from the mid for the input on the crossover, then run wires to your mid and tweeter.

I pulled out the factory wiring and ran upgraded wiring, but that's just me.

Anyway, if that's the case, you do not need to upgrade the speaker wire if all your using is HU power, and no, it can't hurt to do so, [if done properly] but as has been mentioned, it is a bit of work to do it right, and on some Honda/Acuras it can be a real PITA, and not easy at all. 94

Yes components off of HU for now. Just got finished. I must need an amp bad though. I have to turn it up to 25-30 to have a decent sound now. Kind of bummed. Deck is a pioneer deh-p680mp and polk mmc6500's. they sound good, just not strong right now and it almost sounds like the tweets have lot's of "air" noise, could have been the song tough.

It's not an 8-10 hour job, even if you get frustrated and pull the entire doors, which I have done.

I'm running components off of HU power (no rear speakers) and it sounds great. It's a high output Alpine deck putting out just a little more than the recommended minimum for the components. I'm not using the passive crossovers but the active crossover in the deck. The deck actually has a switch on it for my setup.

Well I guess unfortunately my deck isn't very high output! Oh well, just an excuse to start shopping for more stuff I guess.

Another good reason not to run wires now, as you will have to later, if you add an amp. 94
