System issue please help
Hey guys i have a Sony Head (SONY CDX-GT510 ) unit that puts out about 52 watts a channel a Kicker AMP KICKER KX200.4
RMS Power Output: 35W x 4 @ 4 Ohms
Peak Power Output: 70W x 4 @ 4 Ohms
Birdged Output: 100W x 2 @ 4 Ohms
Signal To Noise Ratio: 95dB
Frequency Response: 20-20,000Hz
Bass Boost: 0 -12dB
Built-In Crossovers: High and Low
THD @ 4 Ohm RMS Power: <1%
Low Level Input: Yes
Built in Cooling Fan: Yes
Bass Control ****: No
And 2 Sets of Kicker Componet Speakers don't know model number i think they can go up to 125-150 Watts..
I was wondering i want my system to go a Tad bit louder (When on Freway) and when i go past 20-22 Vol out of 38-40 It distorts like CRAZY Can't understand song anymore..
My question is this a AMP issue (Not putting out enough power) Or Speaker issues.
I am thinking AMP, but if it is, if i also want to get a little 10" Powered Sub 200 Watts then what amount of wattage should my new AMP be?
O wait does Buit on AMP mean i don't need a extra 200 watt for a amp or no?

need model numbers of the speakers and there rms. How are the speakers installed? any sound deadning on the doors. What the x-over set at. There are many factors of why this is happening
don't have model numbers on vac if i remember right it was 25-35 RMS for each one.
their installed on one 4 channel amp and their componets systems
Sound deadning no, none of that stuff.
Their in door pannels x-over...

Not sure I understand, you say you have two sets of Kicker component speakers, [front and rear???] around 125-150W, [that will be peak power] but the amp, a Kicker KX200.4, is only 4x35W RMS into 4 ohms, and that's at 14.4V, it is 4x25W RMS into 4ohms at 12.5V.
If I remember right the lowest continuous power handling component speakers sets from Kicker is 45W, and most are 50W-75W continuous.
So I would say you are way underpowered, and ideally you should be a little overpowered.
Find an amp that has the same or a little more power, [RMS power] as the speakers continuous power handling, EG; if you have the 45W continuous components get a 4x50W RMS into 4 ohms amp.
Remove the tweeters for the rear components, bridge the rear 2 channels of the amp into mono and wire the rear mids in series, [8 ohms] and use only one passive x-over, or if the amp has a high enough low-pass x-over, 1000Hz or higher] use it instead.
I also agree with wrx-killer-Sti eater there are many things that can cause the problem you are having, an underpowered amp is only one of them, speaker installation is critical for speaker performance, as is the wiring of the speakers and amp, along with amp gain and x-over setting, [if used], even the HU could be the problem.
A model number of the speakers would help a lot, as would a pix of the mid-range, [woofer] install.

Well your definitely underpowered.
How about the speaker install?
The 6.5" are over-sized 6.5" , and you car takes standard 6.5" in the doors, how did you get them to fit?
Not so sure about the rears, I understand that some USDM Honda/Acura use 5.25" speakers in the rear, I have never seen a CDM Honda/Acura with anything but standard 6.5" or 6x9s in the rear.

I know its small, but my little Integra dosn't need anything bigger, A audio place said since it was powered that i could just add it on my 4 channel Amp.

None of the amps you link are 4x75W RMS, you can't run a 2 ohm load, your speakers are 4 ohm.

Ok, sweet I asume that good brands are Kenwood Then Infinity, MTX, Kicker? If i get a amp with 75 watts RMS X4 i can still use this sub if i want right?
How would that work?
Or would i need a 5 channel AMP?
