1. What kind of amp is it?
2. You have 5 speakers including a sub to power off of a 2ch. amp. It can be done(I think) but the ohms might be too low for your speakers.

Sony Xplod

Question. So if it's a 2 channel amp, that means I can only run 1 set of speakers and 1 sub, generally.

If this is correct, then:

1. That means I have to run the other set of speakers power by the HU only?

2. If I could only have one set, should the amp power the front set or the rear set?

Thanks

Ok, basically each channel on the amp is made for 1 speaker. So a 2ch. amp could push 1 pair of speakers or 2 subs or 1 sub bridged. When you bridge it you are basically hooking up 1 speaker to both channels and the sub is getting the full power of the amp. So before you do this you have to make sure that your Subs RMS is at least equal to the RMS the amp is putting out. In this case 380Watts.

If I were you this is what I would do(and have done in my car right now). I would power all of your speakers off of the HU, and have the sub bridged on the amp(as long as the sub can handle it) if the sub can't handle it I recommend you pick another matching sub and hook them up in stereo on the amp.

The main advantage of this setup is that you can have a switch hooked up to control whether or not you have the sub(s) running or not. Meaning when your parked and don't have the car running you can turn the amp off and still listen to the radio without worrying about killing your battery. With the amp on you've got about 10min. of listening time before your battery is dead.
