Default Headunit/AMP Questions

I bought a Sony MEX-5DI headunit. It has no power of its own so i need a seperate amp to power it. I have a 2 channel MTX amp that is power my subs right now which are hooked to my back speakers becuase i have a stock headunit. I was wondering if i can use the MTX amp to power the headunit for now and power the two front speakers until i buy a 4 channel amp to power all 4 speakers. What i wanted to know is, i am going to get the headunit installed at bestbuy becuase i got it from there. I wanted to know if its possible to get the headunit installed so i wouldn't have to take the whole thing out and rewire it when i get my 4 channel amp and use the MTX amp again for the subs and have the headunit control it. I hope this makes sense. THANKS

Default Re: Headunit/AMP Questions (Liquidgsr)

to get the 2 channel amp powering your fronts, just move the rca's to the front inputs on the back of the deck from the Back/Sub inputs (2 mins).

As far as installing a new deck, it should not mess with your amp, as it should have its own power and ground + remote wire runs...so really, all thats required is plugging in the new headunit, plugging in the AMP rca's and hooking up the amp remote wire again (read: don't pay for the amp to be re-installed)
