Default Help me find a sub

Ok so here's the deal. I have a Rockford Fosgate 900 watt max 300 watt rms amp at 2ohms amp. I plan on putting it in my gf's car, but can't find a sub to match.

Wouldn't care if it was one or two subs. Preferably 12" though since I have a spare box also. I for the life of me can't find a good match.

Thanks

definately only one sub would go with that amp....if u want the 300 watts at 2 ohms, you will have to either get a single voice coil with 2 ohms or get a dual voice coil sub that has 4 ohms for each coil and wire the voice coils in parallel

Thanks fcm. The two JL audio 12'a look pretty good. What's the SQ like on them? I might just but the two JL audio's and keep the amp to put in my Del Sol.

Tough decision. What would you guys do? I have two Audiobahn (yea yea I know) 12"s 1000 watt each, 500 rms each subs and a 900 watt max 300 watt rms Rockford Fosgate amp. I planned on just putting the RF amp and some subs in my gf car, and getting a Hifonics amp to push my subs.

If the SQ on the JL's is good then I might keep them. I like loud, but SQ is a good also.

SQ on JL Audio subs is very good, and installed in a proper box can be pretty loud also, [keeping in mind that you only have 300W RMS] 94

Yeah thats my only draw back is that the amp is only 300 rms. I might just get a higher amp and run the audiobahns for now then upgrade subs later.

Thanks again

You can even run the Audiobahns with the 300W amp, [and have it work] but you will have to be careful not to "over-drive" the amp into clipping too much or you will burn the VCs on the subs. 94

Yeah that is what I was worried about, clipping. How could I play it easy to avoid clipping with this amp? I will deff end up getting another amp, but for now what would be the safest way.

Don't have the gains cranked all the way up to full. Keep it at half way.

Only 3 kinds of subs I would buy, JL Audio (only if I had too though), I'd be looking into Rockford-Fosgate PUNCH's or Audiobahns, but that's just my preference.

just put ur two audiobahns and the rockford amp in ur girlfriends car and buy urself some new subs and amp

by the way... JL makes great all around subs. They are generally geared for good SQ but can also get loud. They are pricey but the quality is top notch.

Oh I'm good then. I never turn the gain up all the way. 3/4th at the most, most of the time half.

Yeah thats what I plan on doing. For now I will just go with my two Audiobahns and a bigger amp then upgrade subs later. Guess it doesn't matter right now I got to wait till spring to build the fiberglass box for the Del Slo.
