i needed help trying to figure out what ohm sub i should get. im only planning on putting one 12' sub in my car by alpine. i dont know what one i should get, the 2 ohm or 4? and also what amp will be good for that, this is the sub output spec # power handling: 300-600 watts RMS (300 watts per coil)
# peak power: 1,800 watts please help

i'd try to find an amp that makes 600 watts, dual 2 ohm you can wire for either 1 ohm or 4 ohms. dual 4 ohm can be wired for 2 ohms or 8 ohms. so if the amp makes 600 watts at 1 or 4 ohms, get the dual 2 sub, if the amp makes 600 watts at 2 or 8 ohms get the dual 4.

how much is this sub going to cost you? because you might have better options for the money.

I had a 10" Tye r w/ Alpine mrp650(now discontinued but you can still find online). Very clear bass, without rattling your car.

Listen to mhart. this is good advice about the wiring configs based on the amp and sub, and about the pirates and their type arrrr's subs quality being beaten in a similarly priced subwoofer. im partial to image dynamics personally. are you looking for quality or quantity?
