2001 Prelude MB Quart Speaker Setup HELP
I have a MB Quart PCE-213 and need help on connecting it from the headunit. From the MB Quart manual, it shows that one negative and one positive going to the crossover, but there are 4 wires connected to my each front stock speaker. Which are positives and which are negatives? Do I only use 1 pair (+/-) or both? If both, do I wire the two positives to one side and the negatives on the other? Here is the manualhttp://www.mbquart.com/all/dow...3.pdf If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, it has the wiring setup.
Thanx!

Not going to amp em right now, but maybe in the future. So do you know what wires I need to hook up to the crossover? So I dont need the tweeters wires right?
Thanx

there isnt 4 wires coming from each speaker. I am assuming u just looked at the tweeter, a wire runs from the tweeter (splitting off the signal) to the woofer when u pull the mid out there will only be two wires connected to the back.
Also you <U>REALLY</U> need an amp, I wouldnt even bother putting premiums in without one. you will be giving them between 10-25 wrms when they want like 200-250wrms. Not only will they be quiet as hell off of a radio but you could also blow them from the massive ammounts of distortion the radio will feed them.
Quarts LOVE power! I have a QSD 3 way component set with 100wrms running to the 1" 100 to the 4" and 200wrms running to the 6.5"

Quarts LOVE power!</TD></TR></TABLE> Ditto that, get an amp and run 16ga speaker wire into the doors, otherwise your just wasting the MB's, and as mentioned, at the best ,they will sound like crap, at the worst, you will damage them trying to drive them with just HU power.

Thanx</TD></TR></TABLE>
Either will work, I would go with the Alpine first although it is lower power, I have had infinity amps in the past and never been impressed with them.
Also look at the rockford p450.4 Its a great amp for the $$.
If you are going to follow FCMs advise, which isnt bad advise, I would run two sets of thicker gauge wires into your door. The only reason I dont completely agree is that BB6 preludes have Molex plug wiring running into the doors (laments terms there is a wire harness on each side of the door so running wires is a bitch!)
By running two sets thru the doors you can bi-amp the PCEs and it will sound better, this way the tweeter and woofer arent fighting over power.

Although, would not recommend buying from anyone but an authorized dealer, and you really don't need more then 45-50 watts RMS per channel, this is a great amp... http://cgi.ebay.com/JL-AUDIO-3...wItem
