Help - cutting out
Aight i've got a rockford 600a4 powering my 3 way focal component set inside and a autotek 400w wired at 3ohm for my audiobahn aluminum 10. My problem is that when im driving on the highway with my music up my inside speakers cut out but the bass keeps thumping. I jsut turn it down or off for 25 or so secs and it comes back on. Does anyone know how i can fix this, a 1 fared cap maybe? any help is appreciated thanks

it sounds like your 600a4 is going into protection and/or overheating, i'd adjust the gain on that biznitch and see if it still does it, and how long is the radio being played before it does it?

If it is a 4 ohm mono (2 ohm stereo) stable amp and you have it bridged then your running at to low of an impendance and over heating the amp (not familar with that model amp). You would need a 4 ohm sub in that case.

Re: Help - cutting out (KingOcellular)
what's the gain do? When im driving around and blasting my music it'll cut out after maybe 10 mins, then i turn it down some. On the highway it happens faster the louder i have the volume as well.

yea, your amp is definitely overheating, the gain is the adjustment **** on the amp, controls how much power is coming out of it, you'll see a little **** on your amp, i'd say turn it down, if it's over 3/4s of the way up, that's too much
