gf has a 00 integra gs i have a 99 integra gsr. the problem is that the head unit doesnt work in her car and it works in mine. my stock radio works in her car and mine. she has her car hooked up to a system as well. when i was wiring it up the harness on her car to check if the head unit powered, it did for about 3 secs and wires came loose and never turned on again. i already checked fuses as well. i recognize that my car uses 15a fuse for radio and the head unit worked in my car, and hers uses a 10 and only stock worked in hers. i was wondering if anyone can help me when this problem. the headunit doesn't turn on in her car thats what i meant by not working.
NEVER replace a fuse with a bigger then listed one.
Although you should not take Vaymoon s' advice on the fuse he is correct about the constant power fuse, the stock HU will work without the constant power, aftermarket HUs will not.
The constant power fuse is in the engine bay fuse box, it should be a 7.5A, this will not be "big" enough for the aftermarket HU if the HUs internal amp is being used, again DO NOT replace with a bigger fuse, instead run a fused 12ga power lead from the batt. to behind the HU and connect the HUs 12V+ constant to it, don't forget to cap off the stock constant as you will still need to replace the fuse.
You will also need to add a 12ga ground to the HU, from chassis of HU to cars chassis, if you have properly back braced the HU, using a metal "L" bracket from HU to the stock rear support brace, a 12ga chassis to chassis ground is not needed. 94
