fuel pump kill switch
I was wondering if you have to use a relay when making a kill switch for the fuel pump? The reason I am asking this question is because I researched this topic and the information I got kinda confused me!!!
In some there is no relay used, they just have a switch that interrupts the power to the fuel pumps.... and in others there is a relay used that goes back to the alarm!!!
So, my question is can I make a kill switch without using a relay and still be save from any fires???

If you want it connected to an alarm you will need a relay if you want to just add a switch a relay is not needed if you install the switch on the ground to the PGM-FI Main Relay or the switch is installed close to the power lead to the fuel pump, [and the switch id "big" enough. a relay would be needed if the wire run to and from the switch is too long.

If you are going to install the switch on the ground to the PGM-FI Main Relay then it makes no real diff. on how long the leads are as it is a low current ground, if you want to put it on the fuel pumps power lead then any more then 3' away, [6' of wire] I would install a relay.

Take this mans advice. Its better then the fuel pump wire kill. I been preaching this for a min and so has fcm. It harder if not inpossiable to bypass a alarm with the main relay killed. This kills the fuel pump, injectors and part of the ecu. Its three in one. Use this with a alarm system and you will have a very protected car.

Would you know where i can find a diagram to do that? The reason I'm asking is because I don't want to have a short causing a fire by the fuel pump....and I want to have my car fully protected!!!
If you install the switch on the ground for the PGM-FI Main Relay then there is no possibility of either a short or fire as you are dealing with a low current ground.
As for w wiring diagram, it is not needed, cut ground lead install switch, one cut lead to each terminal of a SPST, [on/off] switch.
