Default Kill Switches

I have searched and found lots of good info on installing a kill switch either to the ignition or the fuel pump (or both). What puzzles me is that most people recomend using a relay. Why wouldn't you just put a regular switch in-line instead of a relay? For example a toggle switch like for aftermarket fog lights.

a relay is more for saftey's sake... some people have stated that since the fuel pump wire is fused under the dash, you should be able to put a switch in line.

personally... because it's dealing with the fuel, I would use a relay with a diode.

good luck

u can use either one or both. a relay (if properly wired), would close the circuit upon starting the ingition and using a momentary switch. when the car is turned off, the circuit is re-opened and stays that way. a switch on the other hand, would stay open or closed for as long as you want it. i take it you found the post i place on kill switches.
