yo sup...
i purchased the alpine 6 1/2 type r speakers to replace my front stock speakers in my '96 honda civic ex 2dr(recommended by alpine build sound system), but the when i try to get it installed the installer said that the depth of the type-r speakers were too big.
soo l looked into kick panels...they dont make for 6 1/2.
im lost...i just want the alpine 6 1/2 to replace my front speakers. any ideas?

How many different ways are there to make a spacer? Why do you think this one is "crappy"? I did exactly the same thing for my fronts..........works great!

One of the must dos about speaker install, is to get an airtight seal between the front of the speaker and the back, for at least the diameter of the speaker from the speakers outside edge, that is not the case with that ring, also the mounting of the ring.
So if you did exactly the same thing, and you think it sounds great, you will **** when you hear what it sounds like when its done right
There are lots of ways to replace the oem speaker mounts , that way is an easy cheezzy way, and it works, but not as good as it could.
