what size rear and front (door speakers) would my 2000 gsr take? im looking to byu aftermarket ones. sorry im not a big sound guy

I was wondering the exact same thing. I don't yet have money to get a full system (speakers, amp, sub(s)) so I was going to look into a simple speaker upgrade.
Have you noticed how nice stock Honda speakers sound compared to Acura speakers? They have a considerably better bass. I'm going to look into purchasing some from Honda unless they're priced crazy high, which they most likely are.

if you want to get a badass system setup...you're going to want to use aftermarket speakers. the factory ones are made out of paper. if you want real good sound quality, go with some focal or jl audio component sets. and to tell you the truth, you really don't need speakers for the back. this is what i've got, and it sonds badass...

kenwood dvd touch screen
jl components in the front
1- jl 12w7
jl 1000/1 amp pushing the sub
jl 300/2 running the front speakers

we're still waiting on the 1000/1's to come in, right now I have a 500/1 on a 10W7 in the premade HO box

we're waiting for our other 1000/1's to come in as well, but jl sent us one early for demo use...fortunately, i get to be the one that gets to demo it around
