Default engine whine.

what is the best way to prevent engine whine when wiring your stereo?

also, what is the best way to keep your speakers from getting that little bit of fuzz sound to them, better connection? how?

i have big pet peeves about these both haha.

oh, and when dynamatting your car, where are the key places to really focus on?

thanks

The key to eleminating whine is your grounding. Make sure you ground your amp (and capacitor) to a clean bare metal. I always use my dremel and a sanding bit to sand down my ground points to ensure bare metal. If you continue to get a whine, try grounding to a different location. Some may also say that running your power wire and rca cables on the same side can cause whine.
When dynamatting, put it where you hear rattling. The trunk lid is a very common place, or around the stock speakers.

use sandpaper to expose bare metal and make sure that the ground wire is connected to this spot with a srew or factory bolt of some sort

Also be sure not to screw the amp into metal on the car. If your screwing the amp on to say the back of a seat isolate the amp by screwing a board the back of the seat then screwing the amp to the board. Igf you dont you can get whine also.

this could also cause the amplifier to ground out as well.

but yes all true statements from all of you.. thank you.

im just trying to get all the nooks and crannies down before installing my new stereo.
its now most likely going to be going into a 98 hatchback assuming i can somehow purchase a hatch or trade my integra for a hatch because i dont want to put another stereo into my integra.
i just wanna sell it and get a stock hatch with an untouched motor so that my stereo is as clear as possible without being disrupted and ruined by sounds of intakes and exhausts. im done with that game haha.

so, to add to this thread, keep the advice coming with my previous questions.. as well as keeping in mind if anyone is looking for an integra.. mine is now for sale/for trade.. 5500 with stereo or trade for clean, STOCK 98 hatch. thanks
