Default Compustar troubleshooting

I finally got my Compustar alarm installed... Then I tried to go through the remote learning procedure as outlined in the manual. I switched the ignition on and off 5 times, then my parking lights flashed once and I heard the relay click inside the brain. 5 seconds later my parking lights flash two more times and then nothing happens. I put the battery in the remote and on the display it only shows full battery charge and a transmitting icon for like 30 seconds, then it beeps 3 times with all the icons lighting up and then stops, showing just the battery charge. I can press buttons and it will show the transmitting icon, but nothing else happens. So what could be wrong?? And how could I get the other 1 way remote to be learned?? May be the 2way is messed up. Any ideas????

PS. For a note, I have to say that I didn't connect my sensors yet, tach wire and connector #2...I don't know if it matters though.

I think I solved the remote problem. The Compustar manuals are so crap, it's not even funny anymore. I was searching for a while and read that after you insert the battery, you have to press button I on both remotes to make them work. So I am happy the remote is working

Now, I have more questions... I armed the alarm and tried to open a door to test it and nothing happened, no sound. Same was with the hood, I opened it and it didn't sound. I attached my shock sensor and tried to shake it with my hand...The alarm went off after I shook it for about 10 seconds and for some reason I couldn't shut up the alarm with the remote by pressing button I. I had to disconnect the car battery... Now, I'm thinking, may be I accidently held button IV for 2 secs which activated the panic?? It's weird...

While I was playing with the remote, it all of a sudden stopped responding to all my commands except arm/disarm. I think I got it to valet mode, but is this how it should work in valet mode?? I couldn't get out of the valet mode by holding button I+III. The transmitting icon didn't appear... So is this normal??

You must program both remotes at the same time, do the on off 5 times ,[ have both remotes handy push button 1 of LCD remote get conf."click" from brain, then right away push arm/disarm button of 2nd remote.

the click you hear when you switch ign. 5 times lets you know you are in program mode,[you must press remote buttons now] the 2 clicks you hear 5 sec.later in alarm exiting program mode. 94

Oh, we typed this at the same time... Yes, the mysterious button number 1, that manual says nothing about it

What do you think of my other issues? Did I forget to do something?

Just looked in the manual and saw that "Zzzz" icon actually indicates a valet mode being turned on, and not a car siren off while locking/unlocking. So this should be the reason why the alarm wasn't going off...and I must have pushed the panic button, when it actually went off...oh good to know, will check tonight to make sure it's right
