Default components in rear?

im thinking of adding another pg tantrum R z-rated components in the back of my jeep to compliment the front ones, will it sound good on the same power/frequency or do i need to tune them differently?

i know i wil have to fade them out a bit

my opinion is you'll totally lose any image if you even had one to begin with. i think its a waste of money. why not sell the components you have now and take the money you were going to spend on the new ones and try some even better components.

What kind of sound are you looking for? One that will please, you the driver, or one that will please all of your passengers? If you throw components in the back, you'll lose a ton of imaging... rear speakers should only used for lower notes to complement the fronts... running tweeters in the back is useless in that pursuit. If you're into pleasing you're passengers, I suppose that components in the back would be fine.

But if you're into having nice speakers for your passengers and having speakers in the back, how about some 6x9 coaxials or something?

For sound quality for the people in the front (and mainly the driver), spend the money on better front components with killer midbass.

hmmm

i already have killer midbass from my pg octane zr components!

i want the music to please me

maybe putting the woofers from the component set in the back

and using the tweets up front would work

i have a front stage enhancer oin my radio to cut high frequencies from the rear

all i want is surround sound, and ive always had rear speakers and tweeters in the back but since using a component set i don't need them

ill buy another set of the same components and just use the speakers and crossovers in the back and use the tweetser up front

hmmm i wonder if i could run the tweets on the same crossover as the rear?/

save money and just do good rear fill. You lose alot of the front stage by putting tweets behind you. You could do it, and it will probably sound better, but it would sound much better if you allocated your money differently.

2 channel source = 2 channels on a music cd. you have a left channel and a right channel. therefore 2 channels

i simply do not understand the logic behind making all these extra locations for speakers (front doors, rear doors, rear shelf etc) when all you have on a CD are left and right.

and where are these rear channels coming from? duplicates of the front right? why would you want to have duplicates of channels playing from different locations. you're just going to **** up your imaging and what are you trying to accomplish by this anyways? if anything i'd say try better components in the front if you want to change.

your going to screw up you imaging with that many tweets unless you have alot of skill at placing them.

Its not that hard to get highs and mids playing loudly. My recommendation is get even better components up from, put them in kick panels, and get a great component amp. Then they will be loud and image well, and you won't be wanting louder music by putting in a bunch more speakers, which destroys imaging.

ok, what are ridiculously better components than pg octane zrs? nothing i can get locally, 2 speakers and 2 tweeters are not loud enough for me, at least none i can get here

im going to install my rear speakers and tweeters again, i miss the surround sound, y'all are crazy we must have different ears or something, i just cannot live without rear speakers especially since i love to lock down the block

Maybe I'm already gone deaf, but I drove my car with front speakers only (+ sub) for a few weeks, then finally connected my rears, faded +9 to the front and everything started to sound a whole lot better!

Go rears!!

Yeah I don't like it without the rears and think you need them. BTW how old are you? I do like the rears in my car though.

Just stop listening to what people say and make your car's system the way you like it...and the way it sounds better to you.

good to see you come around. i like rears too, but only for fill, mids or i usually use real flat coax's with bass blockers, then tune out the tweet a little with the EQ in the hu

yeah but you also seem to think you can get bass without having a sub.

I've got a front stage only setup right now with alpine type-x in kick panels. i also have somewhere in my closet a pair of type-R 6x9's from when i got the car. i had the 6x9's in there for a couple of months and then took them out cause i hated the sound. 2 years later they're still collecting dust. i just dont see how anyone can think that sounds good. The imaging is all fuzzy and all over the place.

i think the problem is that you guys havent heard a good setup and are happy having it playing loud with no imaging. my 2 cents.....flame on.

bass...its about damn time you saw the light...

You can, but not as much as with a sub.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by EBP_SI &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">2 years later they're still collecting dust. i just dont see how anyone can think that sounds good. In my car you can't really tell that rears are playing, as they blend in together with fronts and my sub. You can also clearly hear the sound is mainly coming from the front. 4 speakers sound much fuller and tighter than 2...I think it's simple logic. Maybe you just gave up on the rears too early, without playing with settings long enough...or maybe type r's aren't that good in the rears...this is what I have:

The same thing can be said about you as well
