Comments on current Eclipse headunit lineup appreciated!
I've got a 2-year old Eclipse HU in my crx w/ their in-dash 6 cd changer. I couldn't be happier with the setup.
Now, for my other car (my daily driver), I'm starting to think about what system I'll be setting up for when Howard moves to Sirius.
I just picked up the in-dash cd changer on Ebay, so that's done. I was wondering if anyone has any direct experience with the new HU lineup of Eclipse, either owning one or installing one.
I will not be using the Nav portion of the unit, and will be using an external amp.
Any comments on how happy you are with it, if the higher-end models are worth the extra $$, etc. would be great. TIA!

Eclipse makes great units. Excellent stuff. The only problem I have with them is that they dont have sattelite radio interfaces yet, at least as far as i know.

I have one of the new units and I really enjoy it. It has 5 volt preouts plays mp3's, has sat radio, the only downfall in my opinion is that t is to damn flashy. I prefer the look of the older style, but that is my only complaint other than that it is a standard solid deck from eclipse

I agree - I like the cosmetics of the older ones better, too.
Thanks for the info - which model did you get? Wish you had gotten a higher-end version, or that you had gone lower because it has unnecessary features?
