I recently purchased a 93 Civic Hatchback and was looking into security systems for the car. I remember back in 93, I had a nice Alpine security system in my Pathfinder, so I went to the alpine site to check out their newer models. I'm somewhat surprised to see just 2 models, with very few features.
Have they cut down on the security market? Are they still good? Maybe hunt down an older model?

 

alpine alarms are still just as good, they offer few options out of the box but do offer 4 additional outputs so expanding them is easy to do.

 

what about additions like glass, shock sensors? are those sold seperate? easy to install? should i have somoene do this professionally? (I'm guessing yes).

 

the 100s includes shock sensor and the 150r also has the shock sensor and comes with a motion sensor. extra sensors can be added as well as channel expander to give a total of 15 outputs i think.

 

Hey if you are looking for the older alpine alarm. Let me know because I have an Alpine 8081 alarm that I wanna get rid of..
