Default DEI Python 460HP Alarm System

I am thinking of installing the DEI Python 460HP Alarm in my car. I have a couple questions, though. After the alarm is installed, can I "upgrade" it with an audio sensor and battery backup, or do those modules have to be installed at the same time the alarm is? How can I adjust the shock sensitivity after the alarm is installed? Also, I am contemplating on getting a proximity "radar" sensor, but I don't know if it would be a good idea in crowded parking lots and whatnot...Any advice on what I can do would be great, as this is the first alarm system I ever had in a car. Thanks.

You can upgrade/add/remove your sensors at any time provided you can access the alarm.

There is a screw on the DEI shock sensor to adjust sensitivity. It can be adjusted at anytime.

Pick yourself up an AU94TM proximity sensor. They are fantastic and almost everyone on this forum uses them including myself. Once setup properly you should have no problems. Check out the stickies at the top of this forum.

Good Luck Bro

Just one question...Would the proximity sensor go crazy in crowded mall parking lots, and is there a way I could set it on one of the auxiliary buttons so that I could disarm the proxy sensor in parking lots and stuff without disabling the alarm itself?

Yes you can disable an input with your alarm remote.

The AU94T is tricky to set up with a DEI alarm. This is how to set it up: http://www.causeforalarm.theca...imity Once it's setup properly, you wont have any need to disable it. But in the meantime it will either not work at all or false almost constantly. And the difference on the little **** between the two is so small it's barely perceptible to a person turning a little screwdriver.

I have a Viper 350HV (same alarm as Python 460HP) with the AU94T and it works perfectly. It's as if the car has a psychic ability to sense when someone has ill intent.

One final question: Will the 460HP drain all the juice from an Optima Yellowtop if I leave the alarm active for 14 hours overnight?

Well, I got the alarm installed yesterday...It works out like I thought it would, though the shock sensor is not as sensitive as I want it to be.

Readjust the sensitivity, if you can't get it right, move the shock sensor to another location and try again, when adjusted/working properly you should be able to kick any tire real hard with no response from the alarm other then maybe the warning chirps but cracking a lug nut free should trigger the full alarming mode. 94

I adjusted the sensitivity so a light knock on the doors, bumper, roof or hood will set off the warning chirp, but a hard kick will trigger the full alarm. The shock sensor even reads hits on the back bumper or trunk.
