Alarm Install Immobilizer
Hi,
I have a 94 Integra with a Viper 5000 alarm that came installed on car. I realized that the alarm module have a 3-wire Immobilizer wires that is tapped into my ignition wire. Why??? I don't have an immobilizer unit on my keys or anything. Can this wire be cut off and left out, so i can connect it back to factory oem way?
Reason:
I been having intermittent starting issues, so i did a voltage drop test cranking. I'm losing about .7v at the ignition wire where the Immobilizer wire is tapped into. Coming in & out of Alarm unit here.
***Side Note: The ignition wire here have a loom cover over it. I found out that the loom cover looks like it's kinda burnt. Not sure if some burnt something near it or it's nothing***

Re: Alarm Install Immobilizer
It is the starter kill wiring from the alarm, only two of the three leads should be hooked up, they will be connected to the cut starter lead, if those connections are poor connections, not soldered, they can get hot, that could account for the burnt loom, it can also be the cause of your starting problem, however the internal starter cut relay on those alarms was prone to failure.
So you can just by pass the starter cut by disconnecting the "immobilizer" wires from the starter lead and reconnecting the starter lead. 94
