Default acura player in honda? code?

so I pick up a 96 gsr radio and throw it in my car. I figure I can get the code from the dealership like SO MANY people have been telling me. WHen i goto the dealership, they tell me I need to own a 96 gsr to get the f'ing code.

does anyone know what I can do or a nicer dealership that isn't a bunch of ******* dicks? they are all telling me I can't do ****. i'm pissed.

How do people know you didn't steal it?

Return the head unit to the owner and buy a new one.

I'm sure people who steal OEM radios can get them via hookups. This theft deterrence doesn't really work IMO.

so you stole it? i don't understand, but whatever car you got the radio out of you need the vin number from it and the serial number off the radio, that's the only way honda will give you the code, but it'll definitely work in your car if you have the code, if you stole it... then i hope you die of ghanaria and rot in hell

why would i steal anything?

I called up another dealership and got the code. Btw, the VIN doesn't do **** - Acura has no way of tracking whether the car has been reported stolen or not. So in essence, if an owner of a 96 GSR stole a bunch of 96 gsr players, he could get the code w/o a problem.

I didn't steal the player, I bought it from a person off of H-T. Want his SN?
Here you go.

I'm having the same problem too. Bought a oem radio for 20 bucks and no code . What did you do? Call the dealer up?
