My aching head! I finally have the money to work on my system some more and I have a sub dilemna again. 1 e12a or 2 e12k. After doing some box modeling there is not that much difference between the e12k and e12a, but since current box modeling software does not generate large signal data accurately it may not be right. 10mm of additional xmax has to get something. I was set on the e12a(so purdy ). I don't know now.

Better Audio's sub is still not ready yet. Not even T/S.

i talked to the R&D guy and i can tell you that you'll won't regret waiting. its a brahma basically but with more tweaks. price is about $300 (preorder) for the 12" and $325 for the 15". price will rise $50 after preorder. IMO, its a better deal than the A-series for just a couple of bucks more. i highly recommend going with the 15". more SPL for $25 more. it should be noticeably louder.

Their site is down right now, again. I think the xmax that was on their graphs was 31. In 15 wouldn't that make it a baby tumult

not quite wth the tumlut yet IMO. how long until you get the sub? if you can wait a few weeks or so (maybe less), you can get the RMScaraudio new 15" sub. 34mm of xmax i believe. it'll probably be dumaxed when it's released. i believe $300 for preorder and it goes up to about 400 or so after preorder.

Sorry for hijacking your thread

Why are you set on a pair of 10's? If you want sq and spl you will have a much easier time out of 12's. How big of a box do you want to have? Personally I have had everything from 8's to 15's in the cars I have owned. Subbass is all about moving air.

I believe that 12 is a more popular size, and you will have much more selection.

i think i have almost decided on getting 2 infinity kappa perfect 10.1d's.. i found them for $155 each on http://www.ikesound.com. but i also found 10" alpine type-r's for $105 each there. how much better are the infinity's than the alpine type-r's? id like to find prices for JL 10w3s (v2's) but i cant find anywhere that sells them how much could i get those for?

The 10w3v2 seems hard to find. I found one seller on yahoo shopping. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/speakers...ud10v2sub.html

okay, those are more expensive than the infinity kappa perfect 10's... so now it's down to those two (or perhaps the alpine type-r if someone convinced me). what would you suggest? the type-r's for $105/each, the infinity's for $155/each, or the 10w3v2's for $170/each?[

elemental design 10" K-series. $125+shipping (about $140 shipped?) u won't be dissapointed in these. i'd compare them to the JL audio W6 (version 1). the alpine type R is right there too, but just not loud as the E10K. not to mention 3 years warranty and an oustanding customer service.

A lot of guys go with cheaper subs and a properly designed box. A good set of Cerwin Vega's will always do you good. You want some guys that really know their stuff, visit www.diysubwoofers.org

Just to let you know. I have one Kappa Perfect 12.1D. I was initially very worried that it wouldn't hit hard enough for my tastes. It turns out that it is very loud and can go very deep. It is a good blend of quality and power. In my hatch it is plenty.
