I plan on it. Has anyone heard if it's bad to run the car filterless ONLY at the track? I was thinking it would help the flow alot when doing a 1/4 mile pass. Not for the street of course!

i think with out some sort of smooth transformation it might not do much, you should just leave it on at the track

Yeah, will do.

Next step in my car is to set up a date to do my tranny along with my gf's dad. He is gonna show me the proper way to align a clutch since I've never done it before.

That's what I don't wanna do.

Whenever he can get time, I'm gonna take off work and do it.

hey tippyman the cold air induction i had on my car looked just like that one. The brand i bought was apc though...it was only 30 bucks. it worked great, it even sounded bad as hell. you could hear it sucking air in.
But i dont think i would go without a filter. You could really damage your motor, thats the last thing you want in the motor is flys or other little particals...if you really want to go without a filter than the best thing to do is to cut the leg out of a panty hose and slide it over the hose, than just use a rubberband to hold it on. Its fine enough for air to go through but will still hold the flys out. I tryed this once on my mustang.

Notice any gains? I'm just thinking it would allow for better flow during a pass.

well i didnt try it out on a run..
it was when i was a teenager i was trying to custom build my own induction to where it would come down to where my fog light hole was. that way i was getting maximum air flow..but i couldnt think of a way i could fit a filter down there...so one day i was sitting there and thought about the panty hose deal. i drove the car done the road with it on and it did work...but as far getting more hp or something...idk i never took it to the track with that mod
i no longer use that method i now have BBK induction that goes into my fender...but its worth a try and let me know how it turns out

I would seriously not do that. Just get a k&n. I'v heard of people getting them sucked into the intake.

W/E, I'm not gonna do it for minimal gains if it could harm my engine.

Anyway, I was thinking the next thing I'm gonna do to the car is save up for some paint! Do all the prepwork my self and then take it in to get sprayed.

The roof is faded and the whole car has little spots of touch-up paint from the revious owner, but there's no rust! So I think it shouldn't be too hard!

***UPDATE 7/14/06***

I received my BPE (Bitch Pin Extraction) tool in the mail today. I am getting ready to put my Si tranny in and didn't wanna risk having problems with the Bitch Pin like I had last time. I got a limited time budget, so I need everything to go smoothly.

Tony at Cheap Trix Racing hooked me up! Very innovative little tool...

No more lost bitch pins and no more frustration from not getting the Roll Pin Punch to work. (Didn't work 4 me... )

The Tool:

The punch pushes the pin right into the little cylinder, so it comes out nice and easy and isn't flung across the garage!

Expect a tranny install soon!

Nice stuff dude. Are you going to be selling off your old tranny? I'm currently in the process of collecting stuff to automatic-to-manual swap my d15b2 crx.

I think I will actually keep the old setup in case I blow my new tranny. I'd be so pissed at myself if it blew and I didn't keep my old one!

Haha, thanks bro. Expect some definite pics when I start doing the tranny.

Word, I can understand wanting to keep your old one around.

I keep meaning to hit the southside meetup one of these weeks once I get my car you know, actually legal. Haha.

***UPDATE 7/17/06***

My intake came today! I had it installed in no time! I didn't really feel that much of a difference, but man did I hear it! It screams now...

My girlfriend (who is a big time mustang *****, a.k.a., never impressed with my car at all...) said "Wow, that sounds awesome!" That means the Ebay intake gets a big from me!
