the only concern i would have for your light-weight ventures is of safety. for instance, your rear reinforcement bar is made of steel making it heavier. with an aluminum reinforcement bar, it will be not nearly as strong as it is supposed to be to take some of the impact in case of a collision. i will definitely support your massive rebuild, but just keep safety in mind.

Your right about the safty, but even with the stock gear my car would fold in half, in any crash it only has 5mph bumper supports....

I am makeing a 6pt half cage. should be safe... but you didnt know that.

you have a good point about how those cars aren't really the safest things anyway due to the age and size. just make sure to put SFI padding on your rollbar/cage and it'll be good. again, never wanted to bash your project, just wanted to be sure you were being safe. GL w.the rebuild.

another up date, I have gotten the unit body almost completly stripped in prep for the build up...

curent suspenion/brakes out, and ready for major upgrades

the almost striped unibody:

most of my car:

And the next project is to be to remove the battle worn under body protection and replace it with some new stuff... this is going to suck, any one have Ideas on the best way to remove it? I am going to try heat first...

I have gone through the same process on my integra and I really regret not sand blasting the whole car. Check prices in your area, it's not as expensive as you might think.
