Well the problem with taping off is you will have paint thicker in that area...You will need to have a bigger area tapped off. But yes you do have to fan the touchup spot.

you need to repaint the entire panel if you burnt through it, or mask off a large enough area so u can fade/pan out the paint. atleast a 2 foot circle
good luck, wet sanding is tough

yeha i waited till about 3 hours ago to start sanding , i did one fender and the door both side!

but i kinda chickend out on the paint job bc ive never done it before and i was still unsure about the mixing i needed to do on the paint

soooooooo.. i will be reading up on it more and i will be painting my buddies car with real automotive paint

so i read that $50 dollar paint job crap and i was reading it

primed everything then i got rustoleum paint (professional grade ****)

and thinnned it with mineral spirirts to like water and it sprayed amazing

very little orange peel but it did run on the fenders but it was my fault it swong and the gun went to close

but the fiberglass fenders **** are garbage theres cracks all over the place and im going to be getting metal fenders soon and use the fiberglass fenders for wheni put the drags on so i could cut them and ****
that's when i put my turbo on
</TD></TR></TABLE>

NO&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;NO&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&g t;&gt;NO say you did not do that!!!!

All you had to do was ask man I would have told you how to mix it. That **** is a mother to get off and a wast of money. The white CRX that I just got was painted the same way and in order for me to put on real paint I have to get all of it off or it will mess up my real paint.

Painting is not that bad, mixing is just as easy as reading what the paint tells you to mix like 4-1-1 and the mixing cup shows 4-1-1 and you fill it that way.

4 being the paint
1 reducer
1 hardener

You can even get a little Dixie cup and do 4 cups, then 1 cup, then 1 cup.

You can also use a single stage paint and you wont have to use clear. That is what I use.

Just like that. Well good luck with that ether way, but also good luck when you want to paint it.

You will not wax your car for about 2 or 3 mo. The paint may feel dry to the touch but under the skin it is not dry.

There are a few diff compounds you are going to use.

when you're sanding the edges, are you shimmying (sp) back and forth working on one section at a time or are your making one pass starting in the front and ending in the back?

how cold is it supposed to be tommorow? i prefer painting when it's cool and rainy because the paint lays down better and the rain minimizes dust.

keep up the good work.
