You will have to jump one of the wires to make your fans come on if you had a/c and are taking it out now (at least i had to...seems the ac relay directly effects BOTH fans). HUH? are you serious. I am glad you told me that I was getting ready to just cut all that out. Hmmm is there anyone that might know more on this?

haha. Yea sorry I didnt reply back sooner. I just noticed you posted it today. The car is coming along. Injectors are done and look GREAT. I am now finishing up on the rest of the wires, I ran across some problems but I think I am getting it. I will have pictures up tonight. I am going to try finishing everything today.

Well guys I am in the garage working on the car and I am finally done with the engine part. I have to say it looks really good, better than I thought it was going to. Anyways I only have 2 wires left that I dont know where they go. 1 is orange and has a yellow strip down it. I really dont think it was hooked up to anything so I am not that worried about it. If the car doesnt start then I will turn back to this wire.

The other wire I am wondering about is my o2 wire. I went and looked on my Hf and the wire is a white wire. So I came back to my Si and there was a white wire that doesnt have anything on it. I think it has to be it, idk maybe it isnt. It runs from the ecu...Here is a picture of the wire I am talking about. As you can see it has a black shell or whatever around it. O well heres the pic.

Sorry its so blurry. But tonight when I get everything done I will upload all my pictures to show you guys the progess. It looks GOOOOOOOD!

Yea I guess I am just going to hook it up anyways. If it throws a code 1 then I know its wrong. I mean whats the worst that can happen.

<U><FONT COLOR="red">***UPDATE*** 03/01/07</FONT></U>

Lately the only thing I have been worried about is getting my wire tuck done. I have been working on this for weeks now and was wanting to wait till I got everything done before I posted a update. Well the only thing I have left to do now is run my headlights, corners, and marker lights. I have learned alot while doing this tuck and I am very glad that I did it on my own. My first intentions was to have someone else do it for me but after looking over everything I didnt think it would be that bad.

I think somewhere I told you guys I started by labeling everything. If you ever do a wire tuck you want to make sure you label EVERYTHING, it will help you out soooo
much. The next step was to start unhooking and pulling everything through the firewall into the cabin of the car. Once all that is done the best thing to do is start removing all the factory tape and wire loom. You do this so you can reroute everything MUCH easier. After everything is removed you need to group everything up to where they are going. The best way I found was to loom everything together that was going under the dist. Put everything together that was hooking up the the manifold and then loom everything that is going to your alternator. That is pretty much it on your passenger side. The only thing I have coming out of my passenger side is my injectors.

When I get home from work tomorrow I am going to dive right back into the car. I canot wait to get it all finished. After my wire tuck next to do is work on the 16s. I am going to sand them completely down and probably repaint them a graphite color... I dont know yet if I will reuse them though, I would really like to have a set of HXs or Si rims.

Now on to the pictures...
Here is a section I cut out of the old wiring. Just wanted to show you how it did look.

And here is the new sections..

Injector wires went from this...

to this...

to this...

and here they are in the engine compartment getting ready to put ran under the manifold

Here is the driver side headlight, etc wiring sitting in the cabin getting ready to be ziptied together and ran through the frame rails

passenger side

Overall shot of the inside as of right now

Well thats about it..I leave you with one last picture of how the car is sitting in the garage ready for bed after her surgery.haha. Shes tired...

I would just like to add that after looking back on my first post I have changed my mind on alot of things. I will be doing a update on my new ideas of the car after the tuck. I am not going to edit my first post because I want to be able to look back at it and remember what my plans were for the car at first. But I do feel like I have grown already and its only been acouple months.

Today when I get home from work I think I am also going to go ahead and install a fuel cutoff switch. Better safe then sorry!

I have also been reading up on how to convert my fuel lines to that stainless hoses. I will probably be trying to do that in the next couple weeks as also doing a brake upgrade, rebuilding my sunroof, and repainting all my trim.

Thanks. Today I hope to finish the headlights up, and try starting the car. I really hope the fan works now. If anything doesnt work I would say it will be the o2 sensor. I dont know if I used the right wire to hook it up.

I bet ur fan will be fine. I ripped out all of the ac crap in the engine bay too, literally. I'm very picky too.

oh yea also, the relay doesnt directly effect the main fan. just the a/c, trust me, on my 88 si at least. ripped it all out with a knife, I have no overheating proiblems, look and see, no wiring goes from the a/c relay to the main fan. but its up to you

Yea I was looking and the fan wires do go to a relay also but they are not connected to the ac part at all. So yea I can cut all that out. I am going to wait till the last minute to do it plus I am going to look at all the wires so I am able to match them all back up in case I do need it later.

maybe different for the 88 dx or something?? i have noticed a lot of inconsistencies&lt;botched the spelling i know&gt; with my wiring in my 88 and other wiring. it seems i have different main connectors for my harness than like even the 89 rex i have. hope i didnt stear you the wrong way....it was just from my experience that the a/c relay directly effected ALL my fans. maybe just some jacked wiring??? idk

i just pulled out the whole a/c harness. it plugs in right above the ecu and under the blower motor. i only have one big fan so no issues. if i was you i would loop the two fans together so when one turns on they both come on you radiator was not made to cool a b18 so having both fan couldn't hurt. looks good keep it up. and i liked the thing where you said "when people ask me who painted your car" DIY FTW! built not bought!

that black wire above is the o2 sensor if your obd1 you can just cut it.

I only have 1 fan in the car. I do have a extra fan from my Hf I could throw in, but how would I do that. You say loop the two fans together? Would I just split the wires? Run two blue wires and two black wires, one to each fan? Thats a great idea, thanks...

Yea I love painting cars myself, when I did my mustang I got alot of hype over it...and hell it was just primer..haha

So what your saying about the black wire is for me to cut it out, or cut it and use it?

you would run a series circuit http://www.thetech.org/exhibit....html but you could split the wires i guess.

lol. i think i'm going to try using the sealer as base and just clear that on a car i found a gray that looks like the audi's. you think that would work?

if your are running OBD1 then you have already wired in the four wire o2 sensor. the one wire that is left(as in still there), under the dizzy is what used to be the obd0 02 sensor. it's just a left over wire. i went back into the harness a little bit cut it, put some silicone over it and shrink tube.

well i fucked that up but you get the point.

Hey you did kinda mess that up. But after rereading it I understand it..haha.
Well my car is still obd0 so I guess I have to use that wire.

What kind of sealer is it? You mean like primer?

Yea mine is ripped to. This one is actually 50 bucks. The shipping for the whole seat is 40 bucks, shipping on just the cover is 15 bucks. I figured might as well spend the little extra for the whole seat. I think I am going to buy it though.
