using brake cleaner and compressed air to check valves
hey so i went to a shop to have them check my head for bent valves. they put brake cleaner in the bowl and shot compressed air thru the ports and watched for bubbles around the valves. what do you guys think about this procedure?

Re: using brake cleaner and compressed air to check valves
I would say that it isn't too accurate. The valves do not seal from that direction, the air could force the valve open if it was high enough psi.
What I have done in the past is 1. put the head on its side, 2. put brake clean in the ports facing up, 3. the valves that leak brake clean are not sealing properly.
