Icon2 throttle position sensor issues

i have a 94 civic D16Z6 than during normal driving conditions tends to bog down but if i let off the throttle it starts running normal again however once in a while it will throw the code for TPS so i take it that its going out. and has anyone ever ordered from rockauto? they have a cheaper price vs the stores and was wondering if they were ok or should i just fork out for the parts store?

You may want to voltage and Ohm test the three TPS wires before investing in a new TPS.

Double check that it's connected securely. If the problem continues just pick one up from the junkyard, shouldn't cost much and you can cross it off the list.

yes as ronj stated best bet is to start by checking the voltage of the wires to make sure its giving and getting signal to the computer. and if you do get a new tps i would get a honda oem not anything from a parts store, i never trust stores like advanced for important sensors

You cannot get a TPS sensor from the dealer without buying the whole throttle body. I've got one from Autozone and it works fine.

dont those sensors also have dead spots after a while?
at certain throttle position.
i would hook up the voltmeter and slowly open it from 0 to 100% throttle to make sure it reads all the way
