Default ls vtec conversion question on dowel pins

do u really need dowel pins and whats the purpose for them? if u do need them can u have the block assmebled why they drill the holes for the dowel pins. or will the dowel pins on the gsr head fit right on the ls block, i'm a noob to ls vtec so please excuse my ignorence

you don't have to have the dowel pins. they are simply there to help making the alignment process easier.

Use the dowel pins, get the head machined, or but the ones from Golden Eagle. They are important.

The dowel pins ARE the "alignment process"!!!! Without the pins you cannot properly align the head.

yes, would you put on your main caps or rod bolts without the dowel pins?? critical to perfect alignment.

i have the golden eagle kit and it came with pins but i have a gsr head goin on a b18a and for some reason its really hard for them to mate together...is there anu other pins i can use like oem ls or oem gsr??
