Default ITR cams + b16a

i have a set af ITR (b18c5) cams laying around and was thinking of dropping them into my b16a1 engine.

i know the b18c5 cams has a better lift and duration than my b16a1 cams, so i guess the dual valspring setup from the ITR would be a nice upgrade too then? but would the itr springs fit the lower b16 retainer?

is the cams just a waste of money with just a i/h/e setup and stock redline? or should i go for it?

thanks for all the info/tips

ITR cams, springs and retainers should fit your B16 head, to further enhance it go w/ a re-programmed ECU, rev limit at 8500 rpm.

yeah all that would fit, but do i need to replace the lower b16 retainer`s? or just put the ITR springs and upper retainers in the head?

maybe the vfac2 could be placed in the crx with the new cams then too

i read that the b16 has dual valvesprings on the intake side.
would that say that i just have to put the ITR exhaust springs in the b16 head and keep the intak springs?

You can but how old is the head and usually if you get the itr valvetrain it comes intake/exhaust so you might *** well replace them. While your doing that replace the valve seals too (really inexpensive)

When you read this post, notice the post count.

If you have type r cams, drop them into your B16 with no further mods assumuing you are keeping the stock rev limiter. I have done this with 3 of my personal friends' cars with NO problems AT ALL......you will enjoy the gains you recieve, trust me.

well i have all the ITR components so it would not be a problem to replace the springs, i was wondering if it was necesery. yeah i have new steam seals so that would be replaced.

all i need now is a fancy valve compress tool so i can change the springs when the head is on the block.

To change the springs is not a necessity, in fact if thats all the further mods you're gonna do I would consider it a waste of time. How many miles are on this head for you to replace the valve seals anyway?

the head has about 160k km on it. ( i think that would be about 100k miles?) and dont think the steams have been changed.

i dont know the future mods, because im going to sell the crx to a friend of mine. but he could have the springs for later mods
