h22a1 scratched wall. could I hone it and save it?
Hey I got this h22a1 block with a scratch on one of the cylinders, it's about 2 inches long from the top and I could catch it on my nail...... :/ would honing the block fix the problem, or would I have to oversize(if possible). I would appreciate it if someone could help me, thanks.

You could probably hone and go oversized on that one piston and get away with it, but it depends on how deep the scratch is. You'll also have to search around your area for a shop that can actually hone it correctly as the FRM material of the cylinders requires a different honing procedure.

If you got the money I would go with OEM .25mm over pistons and bore all the cylinders to match.
If you are going to send the block out for machining might as well do it right. You will need a shop that has the proper tooling to work on FRM cylinder walls. One with some experience with Honda or Porches would be preferable.

You should also get new connecting rod and main bearings along with the pistons and rings and an upper engine gasket kit. Stock head gasket will do. Machine shop should be able to check the bearings for you... I do not suggest generic sized bearings... These blocks are blue printed from the factory why go generic. Have the journals measured and order OEM bearings.
While you have the thing apart you could also look at doing the timing belt maintenance. I.E. Water pump, timing belt, balance belt and tensioners.

Ok cool. I've asked around and I've got one shop that'll bore it for $400. Im in Easton, PA so I'm not sure if that's a good price or maybe if someone knows somewhere or someone that'll do it for a better price, that'll be helpful.

Look. You're gonna be spending a ton of money doing all that boring and honing and oversized piston and etc. My suggestion is to just run the motor as is, it shouldn't cause any problem other than a slight decrease in power if at all. But hey, if money ain't a thang to you like Jay-Z then, by all means go ahead with it.

Very few shops have and can successfully longevity bore and hone FRM cylinders...
I have had good sucess with just re ringing the H motors... yes I see the nail check... I would run it... new rings will seat fine... just make sure P2W is within spec and end ring gaps are not near the lines... I had one re ring motor that lasted 50k miles after and probably 30+ passes...
