Icon2 B16a2 has scored cylinder wall - Can block be saved?

well i opened up the block and i see this
can it be saved? its doesnt feel that bad. its at 81mm bore , with 81mm pistons.
if i take it to machine shop could i tell them to bore it to 81.5?
could that work?

It should work as long as that gouge is less than .25 mm deep. I think up to 81.5 mm bore on a stock block is ok. Honda says max is 81.07, but you hear of lots of people running that and doing good

go 81.25

make sure the inperfection doesnt catch your fingernail when dragged over it.
if it does maybe go towards 81.50

Are you aware of what caused it?

How does this information explain the failure? I'm going to say botched engine build.

But the scoring on the cylinder walls are no where near the squirters and it's only scored in one cylinder.

The chip, if it is a chip, I see is at the top or the piston.

If I didnt have enough clearance between piston and wall could the ring be the cause of the damage
