Default GSR HP intake mani vs. victor X mani

these HP intake manifolds are not very commonplace anymroe and its hard to find any solid info about them. can anyone give me some insight on whether or not the HP intake manifold is better or worse then something proven like the victor x manifold? i found a decent deal on the HP manifold and it looks good but i dont wanna buy it if the victor x will give me better gains

From what Ive read (dyno sheets and ect) the best Im is the Edelbrock Performer X. Ive also noticed that a lot of reputable builders prefer that IM over ITB and often provide comparable midrange.

I had to port the **** out of my PerformerX to get the ports to line up with a stock P72 intake manifold gasket.

The gasket matched almost perfectly with the stock port casting (only very slightly bigger). On the PerformerX, the floors were too hight and the shoulders (top and bottom) were also too narrow.

Just FYI to anybody who buys one that it probably will have to be port matched. The throttle body opening could also use quite a bit of clean up work too.

But performance wise it still should perform better on a 1.8L than a HP intake manifold.

Skunk2, Blox and Professional Products GSR IM's aren't any better. I've owned all 3, and all had to be worked on. But anyone who installs an aftermarket IM without gasket matching shouldn't be modding in the first place.

ive got an hp mani on my gsr and its runs very good. i made 260whp with 60 shot of nos,310cc injectors, skunk 2 cams, and dyno on vafc to my stock piston gsr with it. the port seems to be bigger than eldbrock victor x too. but its all up to your decision both should be good hp to you.
