deckplate/ talldeck motor + using regular header... how to get it to fit (clear oil pan)? :o
Option #1: lengthen the header primaries.
Option #2: get an oil pan that has more clearance in the exhaust tunnel area. Dry sump anyone?
Option #3: buy a new custom header.
Option #4: BEND the header to clear.
Option #5: ?????

This is my plan, gonna contact Hytech about getting a custom job for my 2.1 liter talldeck build.
The ultimate low cost option would be to make a spacer for the OEM two piece header to make the primaries long enough to clear the oil pan, not sure how good the performance would be though

It has been suggested to me that I
"make a slightly expanded ext. that will slide over your current O.D. header primary or secondary. the extension will taper back down to O.E. O.D. and will be as long as needed . The lower portion of the header will be expanded to all the extension to slide into it. Smooth transitions all the way thru."
But due to the 3d path of the primaries downward in front of the motor (this is the part I need to lengthen), I find it hard to imagine they can simply be lengthened without serious change to outlet placement in the exhaust tunnel...
I've also heard that an aftermarket oil pan along the lines of z10, etc might have more clearance in the exhaust tunnel area.....

I had clearance issues with my header and oilpan, so we heat the corner that was in the way and molded it in. Voila!, problem solved!

Not if using a OEM water pump, but if using a electric pump with a offset idler gear yes, you can use a stock belt. This is my plan on my talldeck Dart.

The tall Dart block takes a Gates 310 belt with ls water pump.

Yes so I have been told by Dart, however it is supposedly a tight fit, you can also use a Gates 294 with an ITR waterpump.
